Curtain call
Echoplex will be one year old on Saturday, but any celebrations will have nothing to do with me. As much as I hate to rain on a parade (especially one that is partially my own), I believe this is something I must do. Since April, Danny and I have been single-handedly keeping Echoplex alive. Skip forward a few months - past arguments, disappearances, failed shoots and CONSTANT procrastination - and find me waiting once again for people whom I know aren't going to turn up anyway. It suddenly hits me: the spark that once kept us coming back for more has long since died. These days, we all have more important things to do or just don't want to do this anymore.
As such, it's become apparent to me that there is nothing left for me to do in Echoplex. I am the only member whose goals in life actually include doing something even vaguely related to the film industry. Therefore, the only option seems to be for me to take my ambition elsewhere in order to progress. From now on, you can find me writing / directing / editing my own movies under the name of Xylokaine. My film debut Save Me will be out in a few months. There's also a high chance I will be seen in a sketch show that's currently in the pipeline, starring Danny and myself. Regarding Echoplex, I wish the best of luck to the remaining members and I look forward to seeing what they can do with Mike Rhodes and Jaymie Weston, the newest additions to Echoplex. I, on the other hand, am done here.
